Digital Signature
A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is an electronic security credential used to authenticate the identity of the sender of a digital message or document. It ensures that the data being sent is secure and has not been tampered with, and helps verify that it is not being transmitted to a hacker or an imposter site.
Document Signer Certificate
Document Signer Certificates allow organizations to obtain digital certificates issued in the organization's name. These certificates can be used to sign invoices, reports, and other important documents in bulk, ensuring their authenticity and integrity.
Tokens
A Cryptographic Token is a hardware security device, which is essential for storing Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) safely and securely. These Tokens are compliant with CCA guidelines and compatible with all Class 3 DSC like Individual DSC, Organizational DSC, Foreign National DSC, DGFT DSC, and Document Signer Certificates etc.
Biometric Device
A Biometric Device is a security system that identifies individuals based on unique biological traits like fingerprints, iris patterns, or facial features. Commonly used for attendance tracking and access control, these devices enhance accuracy, security, and efficiency by eliminating the need for passwords or ID cards.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Digital Signature is an electronic form of a signature used to verify the authenticity and integrity of a digital message or document. It confirms the identity of the sender (authentication) and ensures that the original content has not been altered in transit (integrity). Digital signatures are unique to each signer, tamper-proof, and non-repudiable, meaning the signer cannot later deny having signed the document or message. They are securely transportable and protected by encryption technologies, making them a vital part of secure digital communications.
Uses of Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs):
Signing PDFs, emails, and software code
Verifying online transactions
e-Governance, legal documents, and business contracts
To send and receive digitally signed and encrypted emails
For secure web-based transactions and authenticating participants in online processes
In applications such as e-Tendering, e-Procurement, MCA (Registrar of Companies e-filing), and Income Tax (e-filing of returns), among others
For digitally signing documents like MS Word, MS Excel, and PDFs
To facilitate the transition to a paperless office by enabling secure and legally valid digital documentation
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI):
A Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) facilitates the distribution, verification, and revocation of public keys used in public key encryption. It establishes trust by linking identities to digital certificates.
PKI allows users and systems to securely exchange data over the internet and verify the authenticity of certificate-holding entities—such as web servers, authenticated servers, and individuals. It also manages certificate revocation and ensures trust in the communication process by leveraging robust security algorithms.
Under the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Government of India acknowledges Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs) as legally valid forms of electronic signatures. These certificates are often mandatory for statutory purposes and may be issued, suspended, or revoked by a licensed Certifying Authority (CA) operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
The three types of certificates are; Signing Certificate, Encryption Certificate and Document Signer Certificate.
The Document Signer Certificates are provided to organizational software systems to enable automatic operations and verify the authenticity of documents or data associated with the organization, through digitally applied signatures.
This service allows applicants to obtain a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) through a completely paperless process, using either PAN or Aadhaar Paperless Offline eKYC for Indian citizens, and valid government-issued ID and address proof for foreign nationals.
